EM860 TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
COMPUSPRAY is an automated bitumen sprayer, managed by the EA3000 control system, which enables to obtain an accurate metering with all kinds of binder, from emulsion to high-temperature modified bitumen (up to 200oC).
All operations can be managed by one single operator from a computer panel into the cabin as well as from the rear platform. This includes bitumen metering parameters, alarms, jobsite management, nozzle selection, spray bar movements, etc...
EA3000 control system is very efficient, high-tech, and complies with electromagnetic compatibility standards. Rear and front are connected through electric cable to improve efficiency and reduce the time for reply.
Standard equipment:
1. BINDER TANK
1.1. Elliptical Tank
*Capacity 8 000 litres
*Curved pressed bottom
*Bolted manhole, diameter 440 mm, 200 mm diameter cover with fast opening, tidiness cup, safety guardrail, lateral gangway and access ladder
*Float level indicator calibrated in 500 litres increments
*Air intake with safety
*Emptying of the tank by gravity with stop valve
*Devices to keep the product from being waved during transport
1.2.Insulation
*Thickness 100 mm, protected by aluminium sheet plate

*Special thermal oil heater (U-shaped) incorporated into the tank and fitted on bolted inlet, easily removable

1.5. Burner system
*Automatic burner, with temperature setting for bitumen and thermal oil

*Fuel directly taken from the diesel tank on the truck
2. BINDER SPRAYING DEVICE
2.1.Foldable spray bar, total spraying width 6,20 m, pneumatic lifting, thermal oil heating
*Total spraying width: 6,20 m (48 nozzles)
*Nozzles can be opened and closed individually (computer control), they are pneumatically actuated through double-effect jacks
*Central part: 2.40 m + 2 extensions, horizontally removable
*48 nozzles are spaced each 125 mm
*Central part and extensions are fed through rotating connections
*Pneumatic lifting (double effect)
*Possible dismantling of nozzles for cleaning, without draining the bar
*Compressed air cleaning
2.2.Bitumen volumetric pump
*Maximum flow 48 m3/h with safety by-pass
*Heated by thermal oil
*Driven by hydrostatic transmission
*Rotating speed controlled by computer
2.3.Bitumen circuit
*Bitumen valves
-Circuit selection (work start and cleaning) are made by high-temperature gate valves, DN125 and DN80
-Return-to-tank valve and multiple-inlet valves are automatically controlled by the computer in the working phase
*Bitumen piping
-Heated by thermal oil
-Insulated bitumen pipes (insulation protected by aluminum sheet)
-Removable filter with large area for exhaustion, heated by thermal oil
-High-temperature flexible pipes connected with spray bar, easy connection
-Connection for hand spray lance (bitumen emulsion only)
-Air intake and compressed air for draining and cleaning
2.4.Compressed air circuit
*Directly taken from the truck, safety with stop valve
*60 litres tank, with filter, pressure regulator and control manometers
*valve for bitumen circuit draining
2.5.Hydrostatic transmission
Driven by truck power take off and controlled by computer
That device includes:
*two hydraulic fixed displacement motor
*one hydraulic variable displacement pump
*one tank for oil with filter and replacement indicator
*one needle valve to start/stop the bitumen pump
2.6.Aluminum hand spray lance
*Controlled by computer: start/stop, bitumen pump rotating speed
*Flexible hose 5 m

3. ACCESSORIES
*Two night working lamps, on both sides of the tank

4. METERING CONTROL SYSTEM "EA3000"
4.1. Input data
*Truck speed, speed sensor

4.2. Two types of use
*Full automatic mode, from the front or the rear panel. All the main management can be carried out
*Manual mode, from the rear platform only
4.3. Operations
*From both front and rear control panels:
-adjustment of bar height
-nozzles selection
-spraying
-pump speed (in manual mode only)
*From the front control panel only:
-selection of front command or front/rear command
-operating nozzle by nozzle
-spraying parameters (metering, density, spraying width and increment)
-alarms programming
-job sites management
*On the front control panel, are displayed:
continuously: the metering, the density, the temperature, the bar width, the covered distance, the speed of the binder pump, the forwarding speed, the given speed for the binder pump and the advised lowest forwarding speed
the covered distance, the load-out weight, the covered area
various alarms about the lowest level of the tank, the bitumen pump speed tolerance
*During spraying:
-the metering can be modified easily by pressing (+) (-) keys
-the spraying width can be modified by using the corresponding switches to open/close bitumen nozzles on the right or on the left
-Any parameter modification is immediately taken in consideration to keep the accurate metering.
*Control from the rear platform
Main management of the front control panel are also available from the rear platform:
-selection of nozzles to operate nozzle by nozzle
-spraying
-lifting moving
Remark: A computer breakdown doesn't mean the end of your worksite
*In case of any default on the front control panel, it is very easy to stop the work by selecting the emergency mode (manual mode)
*It is then possible to carry out the same operations as in automatic mode: nozzle selection, pump speed, spraying and draining/cleaning
